More than 90,000 people in Kansas and Missouri lost health care coverage this year because of rising unemployment, a new report said.
Data compiled by Families USA, a consumer-based health care organization, estimated that 27,000 Kansas residents and 65,000 Missourians lost health insurance coverage.
Nationwide, Families USA reported that about 50 million Americans are uninsured. The analysis is based on unemployment rates from January through August of this year.
The
study is based on a link between rising unemployment and health insurance coverage losses.
